Resumen

Apollinaire Bouchardat (1809-1886), French pharmacist and physician considered as the founder of diabetology, studied in detail the physiological phenomena associated with diabetes, suggested a diet without farinaceous components and accompanied by exercise and sudorifics. Carried a large number of researches on environment protection, public and work hygiene, metabolic disorders, fertilizers, plant physiology, food chemistry, organic chemistry, etc.
