Abstract

The symmetry considerations have a long history in art, philosophy, religion, teclmology, science as a rule, aod mathematics sciences in particular. In this work a metric model for the analysis of the phenomenon of the tlat axial asymmetry or bilateral asymmetry was proposed, with the perspective of its application to the corporal asymmetries in humans, and was employed in the study of the inexpressive facial asymmetries or natural and encephalic asymmetries, in healthy individuals (159 and 180 respectively). The model, designated as "asymmetry f', consists of seveo indexes, handles any configuration as an indivisible sel, and evaluates its degree of balance or axial harmony. A predominance of the left bemiface and the left hemisphere was evidenced, and that asymmetry was expressed according to four geometric components and two principal components in the statistic sense.
