Abstract

In recent years, it has increased the use of alcohols high molecular weight aliphatics, extra Idos of certain vegetable waxes and animals, such as supplements nutritional or medications.1-3 Various analytical methodologies by gas chromatography (GC) with columns fillers have been validated for the determination of these alcohols, so much in the unsaponfiable material waxes as in their purified extracts. 4-8 However, despite the good results achieved with those columns, in today's world the use of capillaries has been imposed, which has been because have several advantages, including that can be cited: higher resolution ion, inertia, chemical stability and thermal, flexibility and ease of installation. It has also been found that have a longer life, higher batch reproducibility batch and higher sensitivity in the lysis of minority compounds in complex mixtures.9,10 Taking into account account of the above, the objective of the present work was to develop a reliable method for determination of fatty alcohols in cane wax extracts, by CG with capillary column "widebore" and rapid injection with the technique of "Solvent-flush".
