Abstract

Dubinin's Micropore Volumetric Filling Theory (TLIVM), describes with a good approximation the adsorption of different substances, in microporous adsorbents, at temperatures below the critical temperature. This theory is based on the existence of an adsorption field in the micropores of the solid that determines its volumetric filling, for which the concept of specific surface ceases to make sense and is replaced by that of micropore volume (Vm). As the space for adsorption is restricted by the latter, this implies the existence of an adsorption maximum or limit (Nm), which is the maximum number of moles that can be accommodated in Vm.
