Abstract

A procedure for the selective determination of total arsenic and inorganic arsenic species by continuous flow hydride generation - AAS was developed. If AsH, is generated in HCI 5 mol/L, the addition of a reducing agent, such as KI, thiourea, ascorbic acid, etc, is not required. As (III) can be selectively determined in citric-citrate buffer at pH 4 . The detection limit for As (111) was 4.2 ng/mL . This method has been applied to the analysis of drinking waters .
