Aplicación del ozono en el tratamiento de aguas de piscina
Abstract
This paper presents the results of the evaluation throughout one year of a technology of swimming pool water treatment with ozone under enviromnental conditions of Cuba, which is a novelty, verifing that under evaluated operating conditions it has been obtained water with the required physicalchemical and microbiological quality according to up-to-date standard, which guaranteed a nice and safe water, without risks for the health bathers. The study was divided into two well defined periods, with different characteristics, such as climatological and swimming pool water temperature and bather number. To divide the work into two periods allows the definition of the operation's parameters and reagent doses to apply in the treatment, in winter and summer. It has been recommended an owne dose between 2 and 3 gtm3, a sodium bromide dose between 10 and 20 g/m3 anda dailyvolume of chlorhidricacid of 1 to 2 L, cupric sulfate was used as alguaecide in adose of 0,5 and 3,0 gim3, and aluminum sulfate as a clotling in adose of 5 to 10 gim3. Aunual operation cost for a swimming pool of 500 m3 of capacity would be 15 146 USD and the cost in order to treat one m3 of water will be 0,07 USD for 8 hours of recirculating time respectively. On the other hand, the treatment system with owne presents economical advantages with regards to cloration, allowing the water conservation this is very importan! due to the high prices and the relative scarcity of this importan! resource.
