Síntesis del copolímero de poli (acrilamida-ácido metacrílico). Influencia de la composición sobre las propiedades químico-­físicas

Abstract

Poly (acrylamide-methacrylic acid) copolymers were synthesized by radical polymerization in aqueous solution at 60 ºC. Potassium persulfate (K2S20s) was used as initiator. Severa! copolymer films were prepared with 95, 90, 88 and 84 mol% of methacrylic acid in water to different temperatures (25, 37 and 45 ºC). The swelling behavior of those films was followed gravimetrically. For the "first time" of the swelling process ( (Mr/Mmax) < 0.5) the diffusional exponent of the copolymers was calculated. The values obtained indicate that the diffusion proccss is non-Fickiano. In the "second times" (after the 90 min) of the swelling process it was found that this process is adjusted to the pattern proposed by Schott ( second order).
