Abstract

The continuous flow hydride generation for the arsenic determination was performed. The following parameters were optimized: reducer concentration (3 % NaBH4 in NaOH 0.1 mol/L), solution acidity (3 mol/L HCl) and carrier gas flow (10 L/h N2). The method was applied to the analysis of coast sediments from Havana and Cardenas Bays. The digestion of the samples was carried out through two ways: acid digestion with HNOs- HLSOJ-HCl and by Mg(NOs)z-Mg0 fusion. Both results were in good agreement. The accuracy of the methods was verifíed by means of a referente sediment material from a river (NBS 1645).
