Abstract

The present paper is concerned with the thermic behavior and sorne structural characteristics of cobalt compounds of the follow­ing compositions:

The activation energies and the reaction order of the dehydration and thermic decomposition processes for both products were calculated. The IR spectra support the presence of the OH group in the ínter coordination sphere of Cobalt in the second complex, and the conse­quent structural perturbation agrees with the fact that the value ob­tained for thc activaiion energy of thc decomposition process of the first compound (36,3 Kcal mol-1) was considerably bigger than that found for the second (21, 7 Kcal mol-1).
