Abstract

Extraction of 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T from aqueous solutions by ionic exchange is studied using as liquid exchanger the pair picrate-triheptyloctodecylammonium disolved in organic phase employing solvents such as toluene and its mixtures with n-decane. n-octanol and chloroform. Extraction of chloride, nitrate, iodide and bromide ions is also studied. Picrate ion concentration in organic phase in equilibrium is determinad spectrophotometrically and the equilibrium constant is calculated, referred to chloride ion, by means of a compute, program. lt is concluded that the extraction of herbicidas is a selectiva process and it is improved in the presence of toluene and n-decane.
