Abstract

The characteristics of a new corrosion inhibitor (GIC-1) were evaluated, to be used in the protection
of CT-3 steel in a mixture of hydrochloric acid and ammonium bifluoride at different contractions and
boiling temperatures. A design of experiments was used to simultaneously evaluate all variations.
Equations were found that allow calculating the corrosion rate, finding good agreement with the
experimental results obtained.
