Abstract

The establishment of technologies for the extraction of different elements present in Cuban copper mineral, needs the development of analytical procedures which allow a fast and efficient determination when they are present in concentrations lower than 10·3 % of mass. The aim of this work was the search of optima! experimental conditions for rhe detennination of In and Ga in samples wich a high content of Fe and Cu. These last elements constitute interferences i_n the determination of In and Ga for Atomic Absorption Spectrometry with flame. Two alternatives for the separacion of the.se interferences of Fe and Cu are shown. They comprise the extraction of elements with the acetilacetone-ch.lorofo1m systems and ammonium pyrrolidindithiocarbamate. The two ways proposed are combined with two procedure-s of trace concentration, extraction of clorocomplexes of In (III) and Ga (111) and the sorption upon activated carbon of the oxiquinolinates of these metals. Concentration factors of 40 are achieved taking as a reference relations between initial aud final volumes for a fixed content of the elemen.t. Taking into account the decrease of the relation mass-macrocomponent-trace, there is a remarkable increase of the concentration factor.
