Abstract

A study about the method for the synthesis of di­ethyl ester of acetondicarboxiJic acid, an importan! intermediary and reagent for organic chemical synt11esis, was carried out. The possible influence on the synthesis of the addition time of the chlo­rosulphonic acid (oxidative agent), and the quantity of the oxida­tive agent and ethanol employed in the esterification step was analyzed. It was found that the quantity of the oxidative agent only influences on the yield of che reaction. The results allowed to de­fine the new conditions for the synthesis of the mentioned com­pound with high purity (93,0 %) and yield (72,0 %).
