Abstract

François Antoine Henri Descroizilles (1751-1825), a French pharmacist, spent most of his life in industrial activities and the development of instruments and apparatuses for analyzing chemical products common interest, among them a portable alembic for the wine industry, an aerometer, chlorometer for determining the concentration of chlorine in its solutions, and an alkalimeter for determination the concentration of NaOH and KOH, as such or in the form of salts. He may well be considered the founder of volumetric analysis.
