Abstract

The good performance of electro electronic products depends on
their capacity to support the environmental aggressiveness of each of the stages
of its useful life. Most of the current technology is adapted to bear the conditions
of the temperature climate, but in the Latin American region there are typical
conditions, mainly of tropical nature, as in the case of Cuba, that considerably
affects the good operation of the electro electronic equipment. This work is framed
within the project Effects of Tropical Atmospheres on Electro electronic Products
(TROPICORR) and supported by the Program International Science and
Technology for the Development. For this, three places of exhibition of different
corrosive atmospheres where chosen in Cuba, two in Havana City, and one in
Havana Province, in which determined among other factors, the humidity, temperature
and pollutants of the air has been determined and the time of wetness
and the corrosion rate have been calculated. This work was carried out with the
objective of studying the influence of those factors in the acceleration of the corrosive
process in different metallic
materials (I steel, copper, nickel and tin)
used in the production of those equipments.
