Abstract

The importance that the study of the effects produced by neurotoxic substances, extracted from marine and
terrestrial organisms, such as kainic acid (obtained from marine algae, fungi and mushrooms), injected by
intracerebral route. ,2 In the marine anemone Bunodosoma granulifera of the Cuban coasts, different compounds
have been found, responsible for the great neurotoxic activity that extracts obtained from said animal
present. Acetic-acetic and ethanolic extracts of this anemone showed epileptogenic effects 4 and in
particular, the acetic-acetonic extract, its histopathological and behavioral effect is known.
