Abstract

The effect of temperature on the development of Leucoptera coffeella (Guer) was studied at constant temperature: 21±, 24± 27± and 30±C. At 21±C duration the of egg development in days is 7,71 „0,06 ; of the larvae 23,35 -L: 0,28; of the pupae 10,22 „ 0,25 and of the generation 41,29 -t 0,67; at 24±C *-- of the egg 5,35 -t 0,55; of the larvae 13,58 „ „ 0,36; of the pupae 8,04 „ 0,19 and of the generation 26,71 -t 0,58; at 27±C - of the egg 4,13 -t 0,03; of the larvae 11,17 „ 0,16; of the pupae 6,11 „ 0,12 and of the generation 21,50 „ 0,26 at 30±C - of the egg 4,06 „ 0,04; of the larvae 10,11 „ 0,26; of the pupae 5,38 „ 0,11 and of the generation 19,23 „ 0,41 . The lowest temperature limits of development for the embryonic larval and pupal stage and the generation were found to be 10,5±; 13,1±; 11,4±; 12,6±C respectively. The total of effectives temperature for embryonic development was found to be 68,1±C ; for larval development 155,2±C; for the pupal stage 95,3±C and for the generation 309,6±C. Significant differences are present in the duration of the generation development of male and female. At 21±C the female developed in shorter time than the male, and at 30±C in a longer time. These differences were found to be at 21±C in the pupal stage-1,03 days and at 30±C in the larval stage -1,15 days.
