Abstract

Psoriasis is a common pathology distinguished by an increase in the keratinocites growth. There are abnonnal differentiations and alterations on the antioxidative defense system. On the other hand, ozone/oxigen therapy causes an "oxidative preconditioning" which gives protection against free radical damage. A protocol with "Mouse tail test" has been developed using four groups (Oleozón, l 500 mg/kg b.w.; sunflower oil, 3 mL/kg b.w.; and 2 control groups). At the end of the experirnent (thirty daily applications) the tail was removed and sections were processed histophatologically and biocbemically. The maia result indicated a significant increase (p < 0,05) in the orthokeratosis percentage to the Oleozón and sunflower oil treatment groups. Even, this effect is not greater tban tbe traditional drug cause. The Biochenücal tinding aims at an important role of calcium (decreases its intracellular tevel p < 0,05 in Oteozon and sunflower oil groups) and SOD (increases its enzimatic activity p < 0,05 in Oleozon group) in the action mechanism.
