Abstract

'The drug capacity of trapping free radicals is of great importance, due to its potential use in the treatment of different pathologies in which they are involved. The work routed to check Ligmed-A 02- scavenging activity using the xanthine-xanthine oxidase and pyrogallol-pyrogallol oxidize generation systems. Ligmed-A is a lignan obtained from waste liquors result from paper production as from sugar cane bagasse. It is knew that similar structures originating from cooiferous, express scavenging activity. The results demonstrate that Ligmed-A traps 02- in the in vitro tested systerns.
