Desarrollo y validación del método de oxidación ferrosa en xilenol naranja para la determinación de hidroperóxidos en aceite de girasol ozonizado

Abstract

Ferrous oxidation in xylenol orange (OFX) method for total hydroperoxides (HPT) determination in ozonized sunflower oil was developed and validated. This method can be used in investigations and quality control and preformulation studies. Sunflower oil samples ozonated at different ozone dosage was analyzed and total hydroperoxides (HPT) concentration using OFX method was determined. Peroxides value (IP) established in BP, 2000 was used as standard method. Suitable linearity of the results of the technique was demonstrated in the IP interval concentration of 48,4 to 501,7 mmol/kg (96,9-1 003,4 mmol-equiv/kg), with homogeneous variances, correlation and determination coefficient greater than 99 and 98 % respectively, response factors variation coefficient lower than 5 % (CVf = 4,8 %) and no significantly different of 0 intercept. Recoveries obtained between theoric and experimental concentration (99,2-103,4 %) in accuracy study, no showed a significant difference of 100 %. The method is precise because it satisfy repeatability assay, with variation coefficient not greater than 4,2 %, besides no significant differences were found in either the means or the variances obtained in different days, by different analysts.
