SULFUR COMPOUNDS IN THE TREATMENT WASTEWATER ANAEROBIC

Abstract

The prevailing aspects of the current papers on sul­fur compounds in anaerobic treatment of waste waters are analyzed in an informetric study. To tbis aim, information from the last seven years involving about 580 references was obtaiued, mainly from the journals of the highest impact factor. From the analysis carried out it was obtained that only 29 references were related to sulfur compounds in anaerobic processes. It was also observed that the most frequent items, among sulfur compounds aspects were SQ4_/C02 ratio in the anaerobic process, microbiology and bio­chemistry of sulfate reducing bacteria and the influence of chemi­cal parameters on sulfate biodegradation. lt was concluded tbat there are many aspects about this subject that must be studied in a more intensive way.
